Two Guys
A silent movie about healthy aging. It follows the lives of two guys, that follow very different lifestyles. The first one lives healthy, the other does not care. While the first guy stands up early to make a healthy breakfast, does sport and reads a lot, the other lies or sits the whole day and eats unhealthy food without any nutrients. This unhealthy behavior leads to many health problems and an early death. The movie is using humor to convey its message and imitates the style of the 1920s while modernising a few aspects to fit the target audience.

Goal: Making an audiovisual about a healthy aging
Design process
I started with a mindmap and research about topics surrounding healthy aging, focusing on activities that could be shown in a video. Considering the target audience I was aiming for, young adults, the video had to include humor and an interesting twist to keep them engaged over a longer time. During my research on slapstick comedy I ended up looking into silent movies like Charlie Chaplins. Haven’t seen their style in a long time, I decided to imitate silent movies in the 20s to appeal to the target audience.
The regulations of the Covid-19 pandemic limited the movie to two actors and a few locations. I made a script that left room for improvisation, e.g. the run, so that the humor and scenes felt more dynamic. After filming editing took place. A mix between Adobe Premiere Pro and Magix Video Deluxe were used to get the feel and filter of the silent movies right.
